About

June is Pride Month – dedicated to recognizing the LGBTQ+ community and its contributions to the world and raising awareness for the need to continue the fight for equal rights and recognition. The first Pride parades and festivals in the US which were organized in 1970 to commemorate the Stonewall Riots in June of 1969 when the LGBTQ+ community rose up in protest of a violent police raid of the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village. These demonstrations were one of the defining moments of the fight for LGBTQ+ rights. In support of our LGBTQ+ friends and family, we have identified these organizations to highlight in our fund. They are:

The Trevor Project

The Trevor Project's mission is to end suicide among gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) young people. We are the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people. The organization works to save young lives by providing support through free and confidential suicide prevention and crisis intervention programs on platforms where young people spend their time: our 24/7 phone lifeline, chat, text and soon-to-come integrations with social media platforms. We also run TrevorSpace, the world’s largest safe space social networking site for LGBTQ youth, and operate innovative education, research, and advocacy programs.

National Center for Transgender Equality

The National Center for Transgender Equality advocates to change policies and society to increase understanding and acceptance of transgender people. In the nation’s capital and throughout the country, NCTE works to replace disrespect, discrimination, and violence with empathy, opportunity, and justice.

Billy Defrank Lesbian And Gay Community Center

A organization local to Sunnyvale, The Billy DeFrank Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center strengthens communities by developing diverse resources that empower lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and their allies. Their vision is to provide leadership for a just and compassionate Silicon Valley.

Equality Foundation of Georgia, Inc

The Equality Foundation of Georgia is local to our Atlanta office and does advocacy work for protection and safety of LGBTQ+ youth, trans Georgians rights, community safety, and nondiscrimination.
