Its mission is to services persons who are most in need and do not have the resources to obtain assistance elsewhere. Its programs and services are designed to be language and culture-specific to women and youth and to inspire and empower individuals through leadership development and community organizing that will bring about social political cultural and economic change.

Racial injustice is deeply intertwined with many other injustices the Center is fighting —from abusive immigration practices to Muslim profiling to mass incarceration – and we explicitly make connections among different struggles. The Southern Poverty Law Center is dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society. Founded in 1981, Race Forward brings systemic analysis and an innovative approach to complex race issues to help people take effective action toward racial equity. Founded in 2002, CSI catalyzes community, government, and other institutions to dismantle structural racial inequity and create equitable outcomes for all.
